Small Blessings from God: How Everyday Moments Reveal His Presence
Was it magic or chance? Maybe it was luck—or perhaps just a small, simple blessing from God.
For several weeks, the computer mouse at my desk hadn’t been working. I had already checked it and changed the batteries, but nothing changed. My wife even took a look, checking the computer's settings, but still no success. It just wouldn’t work. Period.
Then one day, while chatting with another couple around the desk, I casually mentioned that the mouse still wasn’t working. As the three of us talked, the other gentleman standing nearby picked up the mouse and—bam!—it worked. Just like that.
We all burst out laughing. Was it a button he pushed? Some magical tech touch? No one could say for sure. But what we did know was this: the mouse was working—and it still is.
Could that moment have been a little blessing from God?
As Christians, we often look to God in the big moments of life—during illness, crisis, or major decisions. But God is just as involved in the little things of everyday life. The Christian faith isn’t just about eternal salvation; it’s also about a personal relationship with a God who cares deeply about our daily experiences, big or small.
Luke 12:7 reminds us:
"Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
Everyday blessings surround us, often unnoticed. We just need eyes to see them and hearts ready to give thanks.
So today, take a moment to notice those “little things”:
Finding your phone when you thought it was lost
Remembering whether you added detergent before starting the wash
Catching sight of your gas gauge just in time to avoid running out
Each of these might be more than coincidence. They might just be small reminders of a big God who is lovingly involved in every detail of our lives.
