Why Your Small Efforts Matter: Finding Purpose in Everyday Moments
The leak is somewhere under the sink. It’s hard to find, yet if left unchecked, it creates a small puddle on the cabinet floor. It's frustrating—but also a powerful reminder: even a tiny drip makes a difference when combined with others.
At times, we may feel like just a single drop in a vast ocean. Our efforts can seem insignificant, and we may wonder if what we do really matters. But does it?
While we may not hold the title of CEO or have millions of followers on social media, that does not diminish our value. We need to remember a life-changing truth: we matter. You matter. Whether young or old, short or tall, black, white—or even green—every one of us counts in the eyes of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 6:6–8 says:
"Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest."
Most of us have seen a small anthill. As children, we may have even stepped on one. Yet ants work tirelessly—each doing their part. The entire colony relies on the faithfulness of each tiny worker. They may be small, but together they make a big impact.
The same is true for you.
Your family, your church, your community—none would be the same without you. That’s why it’s important to be the best version of yourself—not just for your own sake, but for those within your circle of life.
Paul reminds us in Colossians 3:23–24:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
So today, let’s get up, get going, and not only be blessed—but let’s also be a blessing. Even the smallest effort, done with love and purpose, can make a lasting impact.
